The Bellingham & Whatcom County Housing Authorities (BWCHA) will accept Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from September 18, 2023 at 10:00 am, until September 22, 2023 at 10:00 am PT

The maximum income limits for each household size are as follows:

• 1 Person $33,600 | 5 Persons $51,850
• 2 Persons $38,400 | 6 Persons $55,700
• 3 Persons $43,200 | 7 Person $59,550
• 4 Persons $48,800 | 8 Persons $63,400

This waiting list has the following preferences:

• Terminated due to Insufficient funding

• Individuals or families displaced by government action

• Individuals or  families who are either current residents of the Housing Authority Public Housing Program or other approved subsidized housing who are inappropriately housed or who are on the Public Housing waiting list and for whom the Housing Authority has no appropriate housing

• Families or victims of domestic violence

400 selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences
