The Vermilion Housing Authority (VHA) is accepting Public Housing waiting list applications since at least November, 2020, until further notice
Please note: According to the VHA "Online applications for Low-Income Public Housing will not be accessible the week of March 13 - March 17, 2023. If you would like to apply, you may download and print an application or obtain one from our administrative building during this week. "
There are two ways to apply during the opening period:
Vermilion County Resident Has a legal domicile in Vermilion County
Veteran Head of household has served in the United States Armed Forces and who was discharged or released from such service under conditions other than dishonorable
Working Head/Spouse/Co-head work a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week
Elderly Head/Spouse/Co-head is 62 years or older
Disabled Head/Spouse/Co-head is disabled
Displaced by Natural Disaster Fire, flood, earthquake or other federally declared disaster that has caused the unit to be uninhabitable
Displaced by Domestic Violence Displaced by domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking
It is not known how selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list

This waiting list is for Public Housing rental assistance in Allerton, Danville, Fairmount, Georgetown, Hoopeston, and Rossville, Illinois.
Apartments offered through this waiting list are only located within this service area
