About The Service

The Homes for Good Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list for Studio apartments at Commons on MLK is currently open. Referrals will be accepted from October 20, 2020 until further notice.

  • The Commons on MLK is a Permanent Supportive Housing program with 51 unit studio apartment for people experiencing chronic homelessness. It is located at 2315 MLK Jr Blvd next door to Lane County Behavioral Health.

Please note: According to Homes for Good " Placement into The Commons on MLK is done ONLY through referrals from Lane County's Centralized Waitlist through  the Coordinated Entry System."

The maximum income limits for each household size are as follows:

  • 1 Person $24,500
  • 2 Persons $28,000

This waiting list has the following preferences:

  • Chronically homeless individuals: This includes people who are currently homeless and have been homeless for 12 or more months in the last three years AND have a disabling condition. A disabling condition is any type of condition or disability that is expected to be long term and that could make it harder to find housing. It does not require that someone has been found eligible for social security disability or supplemental security income (SSDI or SSI)
  • Those who participate in the FUSE program or who are high utilizers of crisis systems such as the jail and hospital emergency room

It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list.
